We strive to support writers from disadvantaged backgrounds who continue to face barriers in the literature sector. We want to support the full range of voices that constitute modern Britain and contribute to a literature sector that tells a range of stories, speaking to all kinds of audiences Amidst a cost-of-living crisis, many writers are experiencing myriad challenges. We are convinced that it is more essential than ever to help low-income writers to attend our courses.
Your support will enable five disadvantaged writers to attend an Arvon residential course led by two professional writers, set in one of our idyllic and inspiring rural writing houses steeped in literary heritage. Over five days, they will take part in group workshops, one-to-one tutorials, and share the experience of living within a supportive community of writers. The course will help them find their voice, develop their craft, and benefit from dedicated time & space to focus on their writing.
