We are currently living through the most violent decade since the Second World War, with war and conflict dominating our nightly news - from Iran to Ukraine to Sudan. Yet, while two billion people have their lives impacted by armed conflict, powerful governments continue to carry out airstrikes on civilians and invest in military spending. People in warzones are not getting the urgent support they need to feed families, access medical care, rebuild communities and break cycles of violence.

Peace Direct supports people who have real experience of living in warzones. These are local peacebuilders; members of communities living through armed conflict who are dedicated to stopping violence in its tracks. They run local organisations that are trusted by people in the community to keep them safe and create a future free from violence. We partner with 28 local peacebuilding organisations like this in the most extreme conflict zones in the world, including Sudan, Congo and Palestine.
