Every child deserves to grow up safe, healthy and loved within a family. Together, we can help vulnerable families in Malawi overcome hunger, earn a reliable income, break free from extreme poverty, and create brighter futures for the children who depend on them.

In Malawi, many families caring for orphaned and vulnerable children face extreme poverty, food insecurity and limited opportunities to earn an income. Despite their love and commitment, they often struggle to meet their basic needs. Without the chance to improve their livelihoods, families remain trapped in a cycle of vulnerability that puts children's health, wellbeing and futures at risk. That's why intervening early is so vital in a country where 1 in 3 children are stunted by malnutrition.
Open Arms Malawi works alongside vulnerable families to build the knowledge, skills and resilience they need to overcome extreme poverty and provide for the children in their care. Through a three-year agricultural programme, caregivers are supported to improve food security, strengthen household incomes and become more self-reliant. This holistic approach helps families create lasting change - enabling children to thrive and achieve their future potential within the love and security of a home.
