Women experiencing homelessness often face profound isolation alongside trauma, abuse and disadvantage. Our project will help women build friendships, find belonging and heal together through community activities and comforting welcome resources that foster connection, confidence and wellbeing.

The women we support face complex, overlooked, and intersecting challenges: 96% report mental health issues, 82% have a physical health problem, and nearly half have experienced addiction. Many are survivors of abuse, have had children removed from their care, are caught in cycles of criminal justice involvement, and lack supportive relationships. Safe accommodation is essential, but recovery also depends on friendship, belonging and meaningful community connection.
Big Give funding will enhance our women-centred homelessness project, which provides safe accommodation and specialist support, by creating opportunities for women to come together through shared activities, such as cinema trips and pamper afternoons. We will also provide wellbeing items, such as self-care kits and board games, to help women feel comfortable when moving into accommodation. Together, these activities will reduce isolation and create a supportive community where women can thrive.
