Digital exclusion presents a significant barrier for many refugees and asylum seekers in the UK. Accessing healthcare, education, employment, public services and community support requires the ability to engage confidently with digital tools and online services. The barriers to this engagement rarely exist in isolation: some people lack device access, others connectivity, and many need practical support and confidence-building before technology becomes a meaningful tool in their lives.

We will deliver a holistic, full-service digital inclusion programme for 35 refugees and people seeking asylum, targeted in Brighton, an area where local partner organisations have identified a specific need. We will combine practical digital skills training with access to laptops, internet connectivity, and in-person support from paid Digital Champions with lived experience of forced migration. Learners will leave equipped with the tools they need to engage meaningfully in the digital world.
