Help grow a thriving nature network at Wyeswood Common. 20 years ago, there was barely a dandelion in sight. Now, it’s becoming a haven for wildlife across the Wye Valley. Together, we can restore habitats, improve biodiversity, and help communities connect with nature for generations to come.

Nature is in crisis. In Wales, 1 in 5 species are threatened with extinction, largely because habitats have been lost and fragmented. Despite the Wye Valley’s vital conservation status, its rare combination of river ecosystems and ancient limestone woodlands face the same degradation. If we don’t act now to restore and reconnect our irreplaceable habitats, biodiversity will continue to plummet. Fortunately, the nature network we’re creating at Wyeswood Common is proof that nature can recover.
We’re restoring habitats through a strategic blend of regenerative farming and rewilding. Guided by the expert judgement of our nature recovery team, we let nature lead in some areas while actively managing others. Through conservation grazing, meadow restoration, pond creation, tree planting and hedgerow restoration we are weaving a rich mosaic of habitats for wildlife to move through and thrive. Birds, butterflies, wildflowers and bees are returning, but there is much more work to do.
