Women’s Education Partnership provides education and support for disadvantaged women and girls in Sudan and South Sudan. Many are from marginal communities and have fled violence. We deliver adult literacy/education and university scholarships in both countries and basic education.

In Sudan and South Sudan women and girls suffer massive disadvantages in education and life chances. Literacy is amongst the lowest in the world and is often missed out when they are young. Students need support to enter university. The civil war devastating Sudan continues, with massive refugee displacement problems. Slowly institutions are opening and students returning with high support needs. South Sudan is affected by violence, but adult education and university courses continue to grow.
The war in Sudan has interrupted our normal programmes, our university scholars are dispersed and some have fled to nearby countries. We have maintained contact with 90 women and many are now able to study again (online or in person). In South Sudan we provide to higher education courses to 72 women, including refugees from Sudan. We also fund adult education courses for those who did not participate in education when younger (often because of civil unrest).
