In 2018 artsdepot launched a group learning careers insight programme for young people with learning disabilities, in 2022 we added independent work places, and in 2026 careers coaching. 10 young people participate each year through a programme that runs over 9-12 months.

‘only 5 to 7% of adults with learning disabilities are in paid employment' (NHS Digital). As employment is key to security and wellbeing, it’s important that we support young people with SEN to develop skills and insight that can help them as they consider further education, volunteering and career options after school.
Our Creative Pathways Programme supports young people with learning disabilities to gain insight and experience in the creative industries through group learning about creative careers, work placements and careers coaching. We support participants to identify courses and jobs, help them with applications and interview preparation, and support them as they seek places on further education courses, volunteering opportunities and paid employment.
