Every child deserves warm clothes, a toothbrush and a safe place to sleep. But so many families in Bristol are struggling this winter. With your help, we can support families facing poverty or crisis – providing the basics their young children need, and letting them know they're not alone.

In Bristol, at least 1 in 5 children live in income deprived families – increasing to half in some areas. Child poverty harms children's health, wellbeing and life chances for years to come. Hygiene poverty specifically means 1.1m UK children can’t access basic hygiene products like toothbrushes, toothpaste and soap. Yet poverty is not their only challenge. Many families we support also experience homelessness, domestic abuse, mental health issues or are seeking refuge/asylum.
Our vision is that no young child in Bristol goes without the basics they need to be safe and to thrive. Working with over 300 local referral partners, we provide families with essential items to relieve poverty and its impact on young children, while encouraging reuse and reducing waste. Since 2015 we have supported more than 12,500 families, redistributed over half a million items, and given out over 8666 toiletry kits for mums and babies (figures to end of March 2026).
