In England, 1 in 5 children have an additional need. These include physical and mental health, learning, and undiagnosed needs. Many families face long waits for NHS therapy, leaving children without timely support. Parents, carers and siblings can feel isolated, experience mental ill health, and face financial strain. Growing Hope King’s Cross exists to provide free, accessible therapy and family support.
We provide free occupational therapy, music therapy, children’s counselling, and speech and language therapy for children with additional needs. We also run groups and training sessions for parents and carers, enabling them to process the change that additional needs means for their child’s life. We run siblings groups which enable siblings to process their experience of being a brother or sister of a child with additional needs. We offer prayer to those who want it.
