Mothers today are overwhelmed by shoulds: conflicting information and an optimisation culture, but no true support to find their own unique way. Baby Umbrella is here to help mothers take a breath, bringing skillful expertise, a big dose of kindness, and space to build confidence for the road ahead.

In the UK, 72% of mothers feel invisible. 30% suffer the after effects of birth trauma; 15-20% struggle with postnatal depression and anxiety; and 80% need more support to breastfeed. There have been successive cuts to government funded new parent support over the last 10 years, extended families tend to be further afield, and parents are bombarded with conflicting information online. Families are suffering in isolation with nowhere to turn to for support.
Baby Umbrella exists to nurture new mothers, babies, and their families. Our weekly groups are a friendly refuge of qualified, experienced and compassionate women. We provide in person and online support with feeding, sleep and emotional wellbeing, designed to help parents feel safe and develop confidence in their new identity and role. Our listening service provides additional confidential emotional support. We know that when new mothers feel safe and cared for, they can thrive.
