Success after prison looks different for everyone. The key is consistent, individual support, giving people the confidence, stability, and tools to define and work towards their own goals. With your help, StandOut can support more men leaving prison to make lasting change and build brighter futures.

Many people in prison have been failed by the systems meant to support them, and time in custody can deepen feelings of hopelessness and powerlessness. Without the right support, the risk of reoffending after release remains persistently high. People who leave prison with confidence, skills and opportunities are far more likely to build stable lives, make positive choices, and leave the criminal justice system behind.
StandOut’s programme starts in prison with coaching and practical support and continues after release, bridging the transition from prison towards building stability in the community. That journey is often complex, and so we offer individual support through relationships based on trust – for as long as someone needs. This person-centred approach means participants feel able to tell us what works and what doesn’t, ensuring our programme remains grounded in the realities of life after prison.
