Right now, too many young people are missing out on the opportunities STEM careers offer. Talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not. Girls and young people from less advantaged backgrounds remain under-represented, especially in engineering and technology. Schools also face barriers to delivering engaging STEM experiences due to limited time and funding. This comes as the UK faces critical STEM skills shortages, making it more urgent than ever to build a diverse, future-ready workforce.
Evidence shows young people are three to four times more likely to consider engineering as a career after meaningful STEM engagement. We provide exposure to relatable role models and hands-on experiences that reveal the creativity of the field. We reach these learners in schools and now in community settings, engaging those overlooked by traditional classrooms through practical, real-world STEM activities that unlock their potential and break down barriers to participation.
