Through volunteers, dogs and community connection, CareDogs helps people experiencing loneliness feel part of something again. This Christmas, help more people take that first step towards friendship, confidence and community.

Loneliness and social isolation can have a serious impact on mental and physical wellbeing. Many people referred to CareDogs have limited opportunities for meaningful social contact due to age, disability, poor health, caring responsibilities or mental health challenges. Demand for our services continues to grow through referrals from health professionals and community organisations. Without support, many people risk becoming increasingly isolated and disconnected from their communities.

CareDogs brings people together through companionship, community and connection. We match participants with trained volunteers and their dogs for regular walks and deliver community activities that encourage social interaction and belonging. Dogs act as natural ice breakers, helping break down barriers and start conversations. Through meaningful relationships and ongoing support, we help people feel less isolated, more connected and better able to engage with their local communities.
