Help bring books, literacy and opportunity to rural Kenya. Our community-owned shipping container libraries transform access to learning in remote areas where books are scarce and libraries are often hundreds of kilometres away, empowering children and communities to create brighter futures.

Millions of books are thrown away in the UK every year, yet many children in rural Kenya have never owned a book and live hundreds of kilometres from the nearest public library. Without access to books, children are denied opportunities to develop literacy, imagination and critical thinking skills. This educational disadvantage can limit academic achievement, reduce employment prospects and restrict their ability to shape their own futures.
We transform surplus books from the UK into opportunity in Kenya. Each year, we ship 150,000 books and establish five community-owned shipping container libraries in rural communities. Through partnerships, we train volunteers and teachers, strengthen local leadership and create sustainable learning hubs. By connecting communities with other organisations and opportunities, we help them drive their own development and build brighter futures.
