Climate change, waste and biodiversity loss affect every community, yet many struggle to find meaningful ways to take local environmental action. Charities also face increasing costs, making it harder to recruit, train and support volunteers. Last year, Environment Centre volunteers contributed over 6,300 hours across repair, reuse, community growing, litter picking and environmental projects. Demand continues to grow, but without investment we cannot meet these opportunities and community needs

Funding will enable us to recruit, train and support more volunteers across Swansea, providing equipment, supervision, travel expenses and learning opportunities. Volunteers will deliver practical environmental projects including repair cafés, community growing, litter picks, biodiversity work, waste reduction initiatives and sustainable living activities. By investing in people, we can increase community action while improving local places and building long-term environmental resilience.
