We are seeking core funding for our Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) service. This service provides critical, often life saving support and advocacy for women and girls experiencing domestic abuse, ensuring their safety and helping them navigate the legal and social services systems.

Demand for support is the highest in our history. Last year we supported 5,560 survivors and their children. Middlesbrough has many risk factors correlating with high levels of domestic violence - double the National average per head of population (Public Health). One in five crimes recorded by police are domestic abuse related (ONS) Domestic abuse is the single highest cause of homelessness in Middlesbrough (80%) and is sighted in over 85% of child protection cases

We provide life-saving support to women and children affected by domestic abuse. We offer crisis intervention, advocacy, and long-term recovery support to help survivors rebuild their lives in safety. Support is practical and therapeutic covering housing, legal advice, child protection, immigration, finances, and trauma recovery. We deliver high-quality innovative services to help families move from surviving to thriving. Last year we supported 5,560 survivors and their children.
