We believe music can transform lives, yet access remains unequal. We remove financial barriers so children experiencing poverty in London can access sustained, high-quality music education, building confidence, wellbeing and resilience.

Music-making improves children’s academic, social and emotional development, but access in the UK is increasingly unequal. State school music provision has fallen by 21%, while independent schools have seen a 7% increase. With 94% of children attending state primary schools, this gap is felt most acutely by children in London experiencing poverty, who often face financial and structural barriers to sustained, high-quality music education.
Through our award-winning Flagship Schools Programme, we deliver high-quality music education to around 1,000 pupils in London state schools serving communities experiencing poverty. Specialist teachers provide instrumental tuition, musicianship and performance opportunities. The programme complements statutory provision, offering depth and consistency schools cannot deliver alone while removing financial barriers and supporting children’s confidence, resilience and aspiration.
