Dora Brown transforms homes for families in crisis, creating clean, calm, organised spaces where children feel safe & settled. This Christmas, we need to raise £20,000 so more children have cosy beds, a place to eat together, clean spaces to wash and room to play, study & relax in supportive homes

Across Suffolk, some children are growing up in homes affected by severe furniture poverty, hygiene poverty and domestic neglect. For vulnerable families already facing significant challenges, the condition of the home can become a major factor affecting health, wellbeing, family relationships and, in some cases, a child’s safety. Too many families are living without basic household items that most of us take for granted.
Dora Brown provides fast, practical, hands-on, support to families in crisis. With volunteers and supporters, we clear, deep clean, organise and restore homes. We provide beds, bedding, furniture and household essentials, while helping families build simple routines for cleaning, laundry and self-care. A clean, comfortable, well-organised home can restore dignity, improve wellbeing, strengthen family life and give children the stability and safety they need to thrive.
