Nationwide, people are facing rising poverty, loneliness and poor mental wellbeing and public services are struggling to cope with demand. Local churches, as trusted, accessible places, could potentially help bridge the gap with early support in their communities, but many lack the capacity, confidence and resources to respond effectively. As a result, vulnerable people are being overlooked and opportunities to strengthen communities and prevent problems from escalating are being missed.
Cinnamon Network will help to equip 100+ grassroots Christian leaders to identify priority local social needs and meet them effectively and sustainably. We will do this via tailored support, from light-touch online training and resourcing to longer term in-depth coaching and facilitated collaboration. We also offer micro-grants (from separate funding already secured) to remove financial barriers and link them to proven scalable social action models to adopt or support them to develop their own.
