Rural Nottinghamshire lacks regular access to international-standard live music. High-quality cultural events face severe financial barriers, restricting access for local communities, youth, and individuals with specific needs. Ticket sales only cover 35% of our costs. Without further funding, we cannot afford to keep tickets accessible or deliver the education, apprentice, and outreach programs that the community relies on.
We deliver an inclusive Festival alongside year-round outreach. By raising further income, we cross-subsidise operations to keep ticket prices low. Funds directly support free Fringe concerts for local talent, masterclasses, and specialized relaxed recitals for people with learning disabilities. We also fund our vital Vocal and String Apprentice schemes to provide essential career development for emerging professional musicians.
