Fantasia Orchestra champions a different kind of way into classical and new music: our genre-blurring concerts and work in schools engage and excite new audiences. Plus, as an orchestra comprising players & a conductor who are all in their 20s, we nurture the next-generation of orchestral musicians.

Impact areas
1. Reports on trends in classical & new music attendance show increasingly concerts are closed off to younger people 2. Many young people in state schools do not engage with professional musicians or access meaningful musical education experiences 3. Next-generation orchestral musicians struggle to access progression within the first 7 years of a career: they need hands on experiences leading a section (instead of a back desk), responding to new genres/repertoire, delivering work in schools etc
1&2: By placing classical & new music centre-stage alongside arrangements by in-house composer Harry Baker of folk/world music/popular songs (Kate Bush, Enya, George Harrison), we engage new younger audiences who normally would not enter a concert hall. Music education partner Da Capo trains musicians to deliver work in N London schools 3.We give our 40+ musicians & conductor new experiences: leading a section, exploring new/cross-genre pieces, curating a programme, school work training
