Controversial history is disappearing from schools. We are fundraising to fix this. We enable young people to understand topics like Israel-Palestine conflict from both sides, debate differing interpretations and form their own opinions

Controversial history topics are disappearing from schools as teachers lack support and fear backlash. This leaves students without insight into key events like the Troubles or the Israel-Palestine conflict. As a result, they miss the chance to analyse evidence, hear different perspectives, and form their own views. Avoiding these issues limits critical thinking and empathy. To fix this, educators need training and backing to teach complex history with confidence and care.

We will support students to explore conflict by engaging with diverse sources and discussing differing viewpoints before forming their own conclusions. We provide resources, train teachers, and organise debates to make this possible. By transforming how conflict is taught, we aim to empower young people—especially those facing disadvantage—with the skills, confidence, and critical thinking needed to become active citizens and achieve their goals in a democratic society.
