We are working to end youth homelessness & create meaningful impact for young people through employability. Devastatingly, one young person becomes homeless every 4 minutes in the UK. This crisis is growing. Last year alone, 124,000 16–24-year-olds were homeless or at risk of homelessness; a 6% rise on the previous year. Without sustainable & quality employment, alongside affordable housing, this will worsen. Employability is a critical pathway to stability, independence & lasting change.
LandAid’s Developing Futures programme connects young people facing homelessness with pathways into employment in the property industry. Alongside grant-making, we’re creating research-led digital employability & networking resources, corporate volunteering & mentoring programmes & providing industry support to build a more inclusive sector. By improving access to skills, networks & sustained employment, we will help young people achieve financial independence & reduce NEET figures.
