In rural Bangladesh, women are building more than a home – they're gaining fair finance and construction skills to do it themselves. This December, help more women turn savings and construction training into a home that can weather the next storm.

In Bangladesh, women spend 7.3x as much time on unpaid care and domestic work as men – real, rarely counted, never paid. Fewer than half of women have a bank account, and even where savings exist, there's often nowhere to grow them. Skill alone doesn't build a safe home. Without a fair way to save or borrow, training stalls. And better homes – which are the foundation for a better life – don't get built.

AzuKo helps women set up local savings groups, where they pool their money and lend to each other fairly, on their own terms – with profits staying in the community. We train them in financial skills and housing finance, and connect groups so they can learn from one another. Alongside this, they train in construction and plan home improvements. They save together, build together: one home, then another, until every home in the village is safe and secure.
