These are not easy times to be a young woman. They’ve been told they can be anything they want to be, but the reality is often different. The pay gap starts from the first day of working life. They’re hit harder by the cost of living crisis, and caring responsibilities still fall more heavily on women. Sexual harassment and discrimination remain part of everyday life. And sexism is getting louder again. It’s no wonder many young women aren’t hopeful about the future and their place in it.

It doesn't have to be like this. Young Women's Trust works on two fronts to change it. We support young women directly — through our free coaching, webinars and job application help — so they can move into better work, earn more, and build financial security. And we fight the structural change: using our research and the voices of young women themselves to challenge employers, hold government to account, and push for the systemic changes that individual support alone can't deliver.
