Loneliness impacts some communities more than others and has a detrimental effect on mental health. 18% of Londoners on low-income or Deaf and Disabled experience loneliness. Severe and enduring mental illness increases isolation, and winter and seasonal change makes accessing support even more challenging. Over 250,000 Londoners are also on waiting lists for mental health support. 83% said their health deteriorated while waiting, with 1 in 3 experiencing a life-threatening crisis.
Our free, non-clinical creative workshops and events offer our community the opportunity to connect with others and improve their wellbeing while building support networks. Reaching people with little access to mental healthcare. Alongside public workshops, our long-term free membership programme offers adults with severe mental illness a non-judgemental space to become part of a creative community, building routine and confidence while tackling ongoing barriers and stigma due to disability.
