We are raising funds to help young people, aged 5-17, have a break from their caring responsibilities and help them enjoy activities other children do. Young carers provide care to a family member who has a disability, is physically or mentally ill or has a drug or alcohol dependency issue

Foycs helps improve the quality of life and outcomes for young carers. Our objective is to fund opportunities that will improve mental and physical health for young carers as set out in The 5 Steps to Mental Wellbeing – opportunities where young carers can: 1. Connect with Others 2. Be Physically Active 3. Learn New Skills 4. Give to Others 5. Pay Attention to the Present Moment (Mindfulness).

Foycs fund a large range of activities for young carers. We have an Annual Activity Plan detailing the proposed young carer events, across each differing young carer age group along with the expected number of young carers attending each event. These activities can include outings to adventure parks, the zoo, the cinema along with obstacle courses, climbing and paintball along with many others. These activities help address several, and sometimes all, of the 5 mental wellbeing steps.
