Families across London are facing increasing financial pressure, with rising food, energy and household costs pushing many closer to crisis. Food prices have risen by 39% since 2020, while 15% of UK households with children now experience food insecurity. Parents often feel ashamed or fearful about asking for help, meaning problems go unnoticed. This impacts children's wellbeing, confidence, mental health and ability to thrive, particularly during the winter months when pressures are greatest.
We will provide timely, practical support to more than 250 families during the winter months, helping prevent temporary hardship from escalating into long-term crisis. Families will receive tailored support, including supermarket vouchers, energy bill top-ups and essential household items, allowing them to stay safe, warm and well at home. Children will also access school holiday trips and activities, ensuring they can enjoy positive experiences and create lasting memories.
