At Christmas, most of us picture families cooking together, making memories. For a single mum in Enfield managing four children - two of them autistic - that felt out of reach. Cook & Connect gave her and her eldest a weekly kitchen table of their own. Help us reach more families this Christmas.

She came hoping for more time with her eldest. As a single parent with a two-year-old and two children with additional needs, unrushed one-to-one time was something she rarely got. In the east of Enfield, where life expectancy is six years lower than the leafy west of the same borough, children face real disadvantage - parents work long, inflexible hours with little left for their children. What families tell us they miss most isn't always material things. It's time. Real, connected time.
Success Club runs two programmes built around connection. Cook & Connect brings families together over eight weekly sessions to cook, eat and reflect, with creche provision so parents can be fully present with their older children. Reading Heroes pairs trained volunteers with children who have little or no reading support at home: the same volunteer, the same child, every week, building a trusted relationship around books. Both are established programmes. This campaign extends their reach.
