Young adults with autism/learning disabilities fall into a gap when they finish college. Our Employment & Life Skills Project (ELSP) helps them develop life & employment skills, achieve greater independence, live more healthily & be more socially included.

Beneficiaries
Adults with learning difficulties & disabilities face multiple barriers when trying to enter the workplace and live semi independently. Theses barriers include the attitudes of employers and the wider public in terms of just what adults with learning disabilities are capable of. We also have to support members’ families, before, during and after the project, so that they engage effectively to support their adult/child’s progress.
The project supports adults with learning disabilities & autism to develop their employability and life skills for future employment and independence/semi-independence. We run weekly life/enrichment and employability skills focused sessions. We also run healthy cooking and adaptive fitness sessions. We take each cohort on relevant trips to enhance their understanding of new places and workplaces.
