We’re using science to save lives. By funding expert research into prediction, prevention and early detection of breast cancer, we aim to break the cycle of breast cancer, so none of our friends, family, or future generations have to go through it in the first place.

Breast cancer is the UK's most common cancer, with over 59,000 women diagnosed and around 11,400 deaths each year. Incidence continues to rise, yet prevention remains significantly underfunded. Too many women are diagnosed when cancer could potentially have been predicted, prevented or detected earlier, while inequities in awareness, screening uptake and access to care mean outcomes remain worse for many under-served communities.

We fund pioneering research to predict, prevent and detect breast cancer earlier, including through our new Prevent Breast Cancer Research Unit, which will unite leading researchers, unique datasets and biological samples to accelerate prevention science. Alongside this, we improve breast health awareness, increase screening participation and promote health inclusion through trusted community partnerships, outreach and culturally tailored education.
