More than 1 in 3 London children are growing up in poverty. Link UP London will provide free volunteer skilled support for the small charities and groups helping families through crisis, hardship and hunger - so they can reach even more children and families in their communities.

London has the highest child poverty rate in the UK. Demand for emergency food parcels is skyrocketing with more than half of working families in London needing help from a food bank in the past 12 months. London’s small charities and groups provide food, advice, mentoring and practical support to families facing hardship. Many have tiny staff teams or are entirely community-run - with little access to free, high-quality support designed specifically for these groups.
We give practical support by linking skilled volunteers to specific projects and delivering capacity building workshops/training events, so frontline groups can help more Londoners in need. We’re one of the few places groups can turn to for free support, celebrating 10 years of impact, £1.1m worth of skilled support shared, reaching 1.8m Londoners. For every £1 donated, £6 worth of skills will be channelled into poverty support, meaning fewer families going without food, warmth and essentials.
