Every day in the UK, 45 people are told they have a brain tumour. Patients and families are plunged into a spiral of appointments, medical terminology, treatments, questions, emotions and fear. Brain cancer is the biggest killer of the under 40s. This diagnosis can lead to loss of speech, sight, hearing, mobility, cognitive function, and ability to drive, work or live independently, causing financial strain. In 2025 we helped 667 families but demand is growing, with 35 new referrals a month.
The NHS offers excellent clinical pathways but we help families emotionally and practically when they're scared, overwhelmed and confused. Support includes a call to our helpline to understand the diagnosis and next steps; a session with a Support Professional, providing comfort and ongoing support; counselling sessions and support groups; and a welfare benefits meeting for help applying for benefits to alleviate financial concerns. 89% of clients say our support makes a positive difference.
