Spring nights once echoed with thousands of breeding toads. Today, UK common toads have declined by 41%. Bring Back the Chorus supports Froglife’s work to save toads, frogs and newts, through creating and restoring ponds and habitats, and inspiring communities to take action. Every donation helps.

Amphibians are among the UK’s most threatened wildlife. Common toad populations have declined by 41% over 40 years due to habitat loss, disappearing ponds, road mortality, pollution and climate change. Freshwater habitats have declined dramatically, leaving populations isolated and vulnerable. Without action, these species will continue to disappear from our landscapes. Froglife is tackling this decline by restoring habitats, reducing threats and engaging communities in conservation.
Froglife helps amphibians and reptiles thrive by creating and restoring ponds, wetlands and surrounding habitats, reconnecting fragmented landscapes, reducing road mortality through programmes like Toads on Roads, and empowering communities to take action for nature. Since 2020 Froglife has improved 1,402 sites engaging with 248,547 people. Froglife also generates evidence to influence policy and land management, building resilient wildlife networks and healthier ecosystems across the UK.
