Impact areas
Brain injury can result from trauma, stroke, haemorrhage, illness or infection. Its impact is often sudden and complex, affecting memory, communication, mobility, fatigue and emotional regulation. People can lose independence, employment, confidence and social connection overnight. Many people experience isolation, anxiety and financial hardship. Carers may unexpectedly take on new responsibilities while coping with their own emotions. It can be difficult to know where to turn.
Recovery does not end at hospital discharge. We provide specialist rehabilitation therapies, personal training, group activities, one to one and community support at our Activity & Rehabilitation Centre and throughout Oxfordshire, designed to support physical, cognitive and emotional recovery. As demand for our services increases, we want to expand our therapy provision so that more people affected by brain injury and their carers can access the personalised support they need.
