The world-renowned National Opera Studio in Wandsworth, London has been training emerging opera singers and repetiteurs for almost 50 years. Each year, we train 16 talented musicians to their maximum potential in the skills and resilience needed to pursue an international opera career.

Pursuing a career as a world-class opera singer or opera repetiteur (pianist) is challenging on many levels. Training is costly and lengthy, and talented artists can complete several years in higher education and still not quite bridge the gap into professional work. This means UK and international opera houses are sourcing talent from a compromised pipeline.
NOS is a unique and very special charity, offering the highest quality bespoke, full time professional training for exceptional artists, for free. Supported by the UK's six leading opera companies, we nurture singers and repetiteurs towards successful careers as they emerge from education. Training is free to ensure access for all. The time our Young Artists (12 singers and four repetiteurs) spend at the Studio is regularly cited as making the single biggest difference to their prospects.
