We help families with young children struggling to cope with everyday life: poverty, isolation or poor mental health. Through personalised home-visiting and community support, we build confident parents, strengthen families and create safe, nurturing homes so every child has the best start in life.

Many families in Kirklees face poverty, isolation and complex challenges, with 36.6% of children living in poverty and some areas seeing over half of children affected. Families experience poor mental health, limited support networks and barriers such as language, housing and access to services. These challenges impact parenting confidence, child development and wellbeing, meaning many children do not get the safe, nurturing start they need.
We provide tailored, in-home support where families feel safe and understood. Trained volunteers visit weekly, offering emotional and practical help to build parenting skills, routines and confidence. Coordinators assess needs, respond to crises and connect families to specialist services. As trust grows, families move into community support, reducing isolation and building independence. Our relational, strengths-based approach ensures every family gets the right support at the right time.
