1 in 12 households in Bristol experience food insecurity. As the cost-of-living rises, more people are unable to eat an adequate quality or simply enough food to sustain good health. People who lack the skills or confidence to cook nutritious meals on a budget are at even greater risk, forced to rely on ready meals and takeaways. Without action to support people to learn how to cook affordable meals from scratch, food insecurity is only going to get worse in Bristol

We believe learning to cook from scratch gives people the opportunity to be in control of their health, wellbeing and budgets. Since 2020, we've delivered 150 recipe kits every week via schools and food clubs. Each kit contains free, fresh ingredients and easy-to-follow recipes, equipping people experiencing food insecurity with the skills and inspiration to create their own delicious, budget-friendly meals each week.
