There are 1 million young carers and 1.7 million young people living with chronic ill health in the UK. Despite their numbers these two groups are often underserved and overlooked, falling through the support nets in society. These young people are more likely to suffer from lower academic attainment, isolation, reduced emotional wellbeing and poorer life outcomes in adulthood. 80% of young people at RF also live in areas of social/economic deprivation, further compounding their challenges.
Renaissance Foundation offers a safe space for young people facing significant challenges to build friendships, have exciting experiences, acquire essential skills, helping them overcome the barriers they face and broaden their horizons. We provide weekly term-time sessions and a wide range of inspirational activities over the holidays, enabling young people to develop their skills, build confidence and raise their aspirations to achieve their educational, career and personal development goals.
