UK songbirds are in serious trouble. Over half of our 84 breeding species are now on the Birds of Conservation Concern Red or Amber lists. Yet large evidence gaps remain in our understanding of what is driving their decline. Even where causes are known, turning science into policy, public engagement and conservation action is challenging, but possible with the right resources. Songbirds are so important as indicators of ecosystem health, they need protecting with the urgency this crisis demands.

SongBird Survival commissions targeted scientific research to fill key knowledge gaps and turn evidence into real-world change. As your independent voice for UK songbirds, we tackle complex issues, such as predation and pesticides. We are a small team ready to grow and scale our impact. With your support, we can fund new research to underpin effective solutions, shape policy to protect songbirds, and increase awareness, becoming a clear authority on Uk songbird conservation.
