This project combats a lack of creative progression for Disabled young people and their subsequent underrepresentation in the arts. Although Angel Shed provides inclusive theatre opportunities for young people up to age 18, a lack of provision everywhere beyond this age means that Disabled members - who make up 63% of our current membership - wanting to pursue theatre struggle to do so, while also experiencing a drastic loss in weekly activities and related wellbeing benefits.

We will continue to run Young Company, following a successful pilot term, providing a pathway for young adults to continue to develop. We will also facilitate a collaboration with Told By An Idiot, providing an enriching opportunity that supports creative development. For Disabled Young Company members especially, opportunities of this kind are difficult to access outside of Angel Shed and we will therefore help to create a longer-term creative pathway.
