Survivors of economic abuse been denied financial autonomy, left with debt they didn't choose, and no credit or work history to build on. Even after fleeing, abuse can continue through withheld child support, drawn-out legal proceedings, and non-compliance with financial court orders. A survivor has often had their confidence broken down and their options for the future limited, causing no other choice but for the survivor to return to their abuser to avoid poverty and homelessness

We will run a fortnightly drop-in session for women experiencing domestic abuse in Greenwich to access free financial support, anonymously and without an appointment. We will offer qualified debt advice in collaboration with Roots Finance for women who have been left with loans, bills or tenancies in their name, supporting them to first unpick their financial situation, to address their current difficulties, and then to develop the skills to confidentially manage their money moving forward.
