In southeast Madagascar, families face severe food insecurity, poor maternal and child health, and limited access to sexual and reproductive healthcare and information. Women and children are particularly vulnerable to malnutrition, preventable illness and poor health outcomes, while overstretched healthcare services leave many without the support they need. These interconnected challenges reinforce cycles of poverty and vulnerability, making it harder for families and communities to thrive.
SEED Madagascar tackles these interconnected challenges through integrated nutrition, maternal and child health, and sexual and reproductive health programmes. We identify and treat child malnutrition, provide food support and nutrition education, strengthen community healthcare services, train health workers, and deliver health education and essential care to women and young people. Together, these interventions improve health outcomes and build stronger, more resilient communities.
