We are raising funds to replace 4 dark and dangerous classrooms that children in a neglected rural primary school are forced to study in, with new bright, safer and inspirational classrooms and teachers' offices.

Four poorly equipped and dangerous classrooms and one inadequate teachers’ office create a negative teaching and learning environment resulting low levels of student attendance (82% in 2023, 79% in 2024 and 86% in 2025) and poor motivation. This is contributing to poor academic performance with pass rates as low as 62% (2024) and 67% (2025). The impact of this is that 33% of children are denied further education at the age of 13 and are left to fend for themselves in the labour market.

We use our co-production method, partnering with local community and government stakeholders to ensure local ownership and accountability. In this context, the existing structures will be demolished, and two new blocks, each containing two inspirational classrooms and a teachers’ office, will be built and fitted out with new desks and books. An agreement will be signed to ensure school and community responsibility for post-handover maintenance.
