Trauma and disadvantage are limiting women’s choices, making street sex work their only option. We’re here to help them break this cycle. With your help, each woman can imagine a new future and begin to make it a reality. With your support, we can improve the systems that fail them.

The women we meet street sex-working in Bristol are facing multiple disadvantages: domestic and sexual violence (91%), poverty (100%), addiction (91%) and homelessness (86%). These challenges often overlap and add to trauma experienced earlier in life. Street sex work is an act of survival: earning money to eat or pay for drugs and alcohol to numb pain. It also brings stigma, criminalisation and an increased risk of violence, making it hard to leave and trapping women in a vicious cycle.

Our long-term support helps women tackle the issues that make street sex work their only option. They can access healthcare in our daytime hub and emergency support on the night outreach van. Specialist caseworkers advocate for women’s needs and connect them to vital services including housing, drug rehab and mental healthcare. Our partnership work aims to build a more compassionate response to street sex work, enabling women to get support earlier and helping services be more aware of trauma.
