Lendwithcare has supported smallholder farmers in Southeast Asia for over 15 years. We know their potential, and we're working with HUSK to help farming families to improve soil health, increase their climate resilience and grow stronger crops that lead to significantly increased earnings.

Smallholder farmers are increasingly affected by climate change, soil degradation and rising farming costs. Years of intensive chemical fertiliser use have reduced soil health and water retention, making crops more vulnerable to drought and unpredictable weather. Many farmers, particularly women, have limited access to sustainable farming solutions that could improve productivity, strengthen resilience and help them earn a more reliable income.
Building on successful pilot projects with rice farmers in Cambodia and Vietnam, this project aims to directly help smallholder sugarcane famers to move towards biochar fertilisers. We have proven the benefits of transitioning to biochar fertilisers already, and this project will extend our reach to help demonstrate the same benefits to sugarcane farmers who, with the right knowledge, can better protect themselves against climate uncertainty and most importantly, increase their earnings.
