In an area of diversity and high deprivation, demand on our services has doubled in the last five years and community care is expected to rise by 40% in the next few years. For every person Mountbatten cannot reach, people end up being admitted to A&E or to hospital putting strain on an already stretched health system and people are not in the place of care that they would want.

It costs £5,500 each day to provide Mountbatten’s specialist Community Nursing care. This essential service ensures people needing pain and symptom management can receive the care they deserve in the comfort of their own homes, before they reach an emergency situation. Mountbatten’s care is available 24/7, and over Christmas Mountbatten’s Nurses will continue to provide vital services.
