Too many voices are still missing from politics. Only 41% of MPs are women and progress is fragile, with current estimates that this will fall to 26% after the next election. The risk of reversal is real and evidenced. Many also face deep barriers to running for office, especially Black and minoritised, disabled, and lower-income women. Without urgent action now, we risk losing ground on women's representation in politics, and that will affect us all.
50:50 is flooding politics with diverse, talented women and fixing the system that holds them back. With the next election in sight, the time to act is now.
