Christmas is often associated with safety, connection and belonging. But for many people experiencing homelessness, escaping abuse, or facing crisis, it can be one of the most isolating times of the year. This Christmas, Alongside is helping people move beyond survival.

Behind every person experiencing homelessness is a story. A relationship breakdown. A lost job. Trauma. Abuse. Poor mental health. A moment where life became impossible to manage alone. Rising costs, insecure housing and stretched services mean more people are reaching crisis point. Alongside exists so people don’t have to face those moments alone. We provide emergency support, safe accommodation and specialist services that help people move away from crisis and towards a more secure future.
There is no single route into homelessness, and there is no single route out. That’s why Alongside provides personalised, wraparound support that meets people where they are. Across the South West, we work with people experiencing homelessness, escaping domestic abuse, leaving prison, and rebuilding after trauma. Through outreach, safe accommodation, specialist services and one-to-one support, we help people overcome barriers and take steps towards a safer, more independent future.
